Mother Earthworms Worm Farm in Knysna, is a working worm breeding farm that is fascinating to visit and to learn how the Eisenia fetida, "Red Wriggler" worm is able to assist in recycling food waste. We offer daily worm tours from 10-12 (week days only), whereby the public can learn more about the benefits of vermiculture, worm farming and food waste recycling.Domestic and commercial wormeries are sold off the farm, at the Wild Oats Market (Sedgefield - Saturdays from 7.30 - 11.30 am), or couriered to your door, anywhere in South Africa.Domestic waste management is becoming a key issue of concern, and thus each wormery assists in minimising landfill waste, in a "greening organic collective". Considering that conventional fertiliser prices have risen (and will continue) so rapidly, more farmers, and food producers/users are turning to the marvel of vermiculture - using Eisenia Fetida worms to create potent, organic, safe and microbe-rich soil amendments, such as vermitea, vermicast and vermiliquids...More homes and businesses are realising that creating "in-house" food recycling methods are much cheaper, valid and sustainable in the lond run. Why toss out food waste that has so many nutritional benefits for the plants we are trying to feed?We welcome your call, visit or emails regarding worming, and encourage you to green YOUR life.Call Stacey for more information
