Brake checks are an important part of vehicle servicing requirements and should be inspected periodically. If you use your car mainly for short journeys it is likely that the brakes will wear down sooner.   The most obvious symptoms indicating that brake pads are in need of changing or repair are: 1) Grinding noise – this usually suggests that the brake pads have reached the minimum thickness and your brake pads require changing. 2) Pull to the left or right when braking – this normally means that there could be sticking on the brake discs or issues with the hydraulic elements of the brakes.
