In September 2008 I traveled to France with a couple of friends. The ten day visit took us to the countryside in Provence and bustling Paris. The rural scenery was as beautiful as I had always imagined in my artwork. I so loved the countryside's purity and tranquility. Narrow cobble stoned pathways with tiny shops, selling everything imaginable. Buying a croissant from a street vendor soon became a daily ritual. I found Paris to be full of activity, even formal. Everyone seems to be rushing off somewhere and appears rather hostile. Those on the way home normally have a baguette clutched under the arm or tied on the back of their bicycles, a common mode of transport. The countless bistros and restaurants were ever so evident all over Paris. All of them with crisp tablecloths and waiters on hand. Enjoying a freshly brewed cup of "café noisette" (hazelnut coffee) and watch the world go by from one of these eateries, was the best experience ever.
