The City of Cape Town have called for the users of the Dial a Ride service to attend a meeting in Woodstock on Saturday, 30 July 2011. The meeting which will be held at the Woodstock Town Hall starts at 9 AM and will give users of the service the opportunity to voice their concerns about the service offered.
The City of Cape Town are in the process of drawing up the tender document for the Dial a Ride service which needs to go out soon. The current tender will expire at the end of the year and new operators will be taking over. This meeting is an opportunity for users of the service to inform The City of the shortfalls of the service and to tell them what our expectations of the service are.
QAWC representatives will be attending the meeting and will communicate various concerns and observations to the City of Cape Town. If you have concerns or comments you would like to make but will not be able to attend the meeting, you can contact the QAWC office who will record your views and ensure that they are raised at the meeting.
This meeting is very significant and QAWC encourages members to attend and make the City of Cape Town aware of our needs and let them know that we are no longer going to sit back and accept a second rate service.
