Terms and Conditions of Steinway & Sons Warranty

The warranty period shall commence on delivery/transfer of ownership of the instrument purchased from Pianoforte (Pty) Ltd to the initial purchaser.

It shall run for five years, but shall end earlier if and when the initial purchaser transfers ownership of the instrument to a third party.

The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship only. Any such defect will be repaired free of charge during the warranty period.

If the purchaser discovers any defects in materials or workmanship, Pianoforte must be advised immediately. The purchaser agrees to have the instrument inspected by Pianoforte’s authorised Steinway & Sons technicians.

The warranty does not cover any expense, which exceeds the actual cost of the repair.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or accidental exterior and interior damage.

The warranty does not cover the surface finish and key coverings (durability and discoloration.)

Claims under this warranty are dependant on the instrument residing in optimal environmental conditions.

The warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
