Live Music Performances for all occasions
Desert Rose Music
Desert Rose are leaders in composing and producing crossover world music where African drums meet Tabla, where Arabic intertwine seamlessly with Xhosa, English and Urdu vocals. Their music has been described by mainstream media as epic and a musical journey into ancient cultures where indigenous instruments such as the African Mouth Bow and Mbira compliments the strings of Spanish guitar and Indian harmonium.
Desert Rose caters for both small private functions and large events. Their composer, Lynne Holmes, has been acknowledged by media as one of the leading world music composers in South Africa and the group has the capacity to compose and develop a programme for any occasion from a private upmarket Muslim wedding to the opening of a major international event. They have opened events such as the annual Ubuntu Festival and the Nelson Mandela Dinner (2009) to the interfaith headliner for the annual Human Rights Day at the Cape Town Festival (2009 and 2011) to headlining at the annual Indigenous Orchestra Ensemble at Artscape (2011).
