Curds & Whey’s Farm Yoghurt
This yoghurt is a result of a dairy-farming family attempting to bring back the foods that we loved as children - an old-fashioned goodness & simplicity, where the food is what it is and nothing else.
Farm Yoghurt is handmade in our dedicated farm dairy kitchen. We use milk from cows that have been fed a "balanced diet" but not organic. The raw milk is antibiotic and hormone free.
We thicken the yoghurt naturally by separating the whey (the liquid part) from the curds (the solids) which results in a creamier, thick mousse-like yoghurt. All made with careful attention & love!!
Many think that because the yoghurt has no preservatives it will not last long. However, if the cold chain is maintained the yoghurt will last for a good 3 weeks in the sealed container, however it should be used within 5 days once opened! We give the yoghurt a 10-day period to be sold (sell by date) so that it has a chance to be enjoyed in the customers’ home.
Farm Yoghurt is sold at various deli’s in and around: to name a few – Melissas Food Shops, Giovanni’s, Joostenberg Deli, Vineyard Deli, several Spar’s and more. We package it in 1kg & 500g buckets for the retail market (why buckets – that’s how we fetch our milk from the dairy).
And we have the privilege of the yoghurt being served at various restaurants as part of their breakfast menus or as an accompaniment to various dishes. To this market we package according to the quantity they require.
