Hand-stitched leather furniture by Johno du Plessis
Johno du Plessis
design, Furniture, Interior Design
Very much like his award-winning, hand-crafted rugs, Johno du Plessis' leather furniture is fashioned using a similar technique, be it an oak- or steel-framed bench or ottoman, a clad banquette or seating-cube, a bed-head or decorative screen.
The leather is adhered to a special rubber backing; the chosen pattern is then stamped out and the stitch holes are punched, and the components then hand-stitched together using waxed cotton thread.
