HYDROSOL™ Water Retainers for Soil and Substrates

Human activities require more and more resources – among them water is certainly the most precious. Modern agriculture consumes almost two thirds of the waters pumped worldwide. For this reason, more and more people are seeking ways to conserve it.

HYDROSOL is a water retainer that, when incorporated into a soil or a substrate absorbs and retains large quantities of water and nutrients. Unlike most products that become hydrated, HYDROSOL has the property of easily releasing the absorbed water and nutrients, thereby allowing the plant to have water and nutrients available at will as a function of the absorption – release cycles.HYDROSOL is a High-Tech product whose range has been registered under n°9310037 in 1996 at the French MINISTRY of AGRICULTURE as a SOIL CONDITIONER with high Water retention capabilities.HYDROSOL is specially manufactured in Europe under ISO9001 standards and suitable for all types of agriculture and plantations under any climatic conditions and moreover under high temperatures inclusive of desert areas, and those with high soil and water salt content. 

WATER SAVINGS UP TO 70%Because of its specific polymeric structure under the form of dry crystals, the first ACTION of HYDROSOL is to capture and retain water and/or moisture up to 600 times its proper volume, thus capturing considerable quantities of water usually lost by seepage and evaporation. When used optimally HYDROSOL allows up to 70% in irrigation water savings.


INCREASE OF GERMINATION, GROWTH & PRODUCTION RATIOS

In addition to water capture, HYDROSOL crystals will also absorb and adsorb available fertilizers, nutrients and mineral salts (see customized solutions). Once in the ground, HYDROSOL will enhance the development of the root system and mass as they naturally thrive on the charged crystals sucking as needed into the reserves of water and nutrients; As a consequence, the plant will then be protected and safe from any hydro stress and nutrient deficiency thus enhancing germination, growth and production.

SALINE STOPPING AGENT

The HYDROSOL crystals membrane acts naturally as a salt shield, allowing plantations in harsh conditions where salty soils and brackish watering are involved. This diminishes the damaging effects of salt and activates root growth independently of soil quality. (see our customized solutions).

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY, NEUTRAL Ph & LIFE SPAN (FIVE YEARS)

HYDROSOL has a neutral Ph and is totally biodegradable; it is active in average for a period of more or less 5 years, depending on the micro bacterial activity of the soil and temperatures. Fertilizers and nutrients included at the manufacturing stage are not washed by irrigation or rainfall. As a consequence, originally captured fertilizers do not pollute underground waters; some added fertilizers would then be absorbed and/or adsorbed by the polymeric structure confirming HYDROSOL as an environment friendly product with soil remediation & rehabilitation capabilities.

CompositionHYDROSOL is a range of super absorbent anionic polyacrylamide polymers. They are cross linked copolymers of Acrylamide and Potassium Acrylate that are water insoluble. HYDROSOL products have the property of absorbing up to 500 times their weight in distilled water and they become gels. HYDROSOL reduces irrigation from 12 to 6 litres per square meter on lawns in desert areas. HYDROSOL improves horticultural crop yields due to better aeration of the substrate. The date of the first harvest is earlier, which allows for faster crop rotation.HYDROSOL makes it possible to improve the water retention of substrates such as (Brown peat, Blond peat, Perlite, Wood chips, Clay soil and Sand); Irrigation frequencies are spread out thereby reducing both water and labour costs.In arboriculture, HYDROSOL reduces the summer mortality of young trees due to transplanting shock by 40% with respect to the control groupIn rain-fed sugar cane farming, HYDROSOL improves the transplanting and growth rates of cane shoots during the dry season and has allowed a significant increase in yields. The sugar yield of plots treated increased by 25% over the control plots.
