SAGA


NAMA

NAMA stands for the National Association of Model Agencies also incorporating Children’s, Character, Talent and Creative Agencies in South Africa. Its Members represent Models, Characters, Children, Talent and Artists appearing in Advertising in all media in South Africa as well as the International market.

NAMA is a voluntary Business Membership Organization; it has influence but not power over the business choices made by its Members. Membership of NAMA brings responsibilities, rights and benefits.


Official South African Casting Association

The recognised organisation for the talent agencies that represent Background Extras, Characters and Kids for film and stills shoots. . Most of the talent on the books of OSCA members are considered "non-professional" artistes. Until the formation of OSCA, these artistes had no formal representation in the film industry. OSCAs goals include greater communication, and greater cost-competitiveness for the industry as a whole. In the last few months OSCA has adopted a unified approach to constructive negotiations within the industry, which has finally culminated in OSCA SA being officially recognised by the Commercial Producers Association (CPA).

The Cape Film Commission

The Cape Film Commission's website aims is to supply you with everything you need to know, and more, about film production in Cape Town and the Western Cape. From information on permitting, service suppliers and facilitation companies to tax and finance incentives set in place for co-production in South Africa.

The Cape Film Commission is the official representative for the City of Cape Town and the Province of the Western Cape, for the economic development, marketing and promotion of the film industry through a strategy of Growth, Integration and Transformation.


On-the-move

On-the-move is a web site dedicated to information about professional mobility in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other performing arts disciplines. On-the-move helps performing arts, music professionals and arts operators to search for information and funding for their international activities.

Is a nationwide umbrella Association of Theatre Producers,

Promoters, Managers and Owners.

The Visual Arts Network of South Africa is an umbrella organisation serving the interests of visual arts practitioners. Its membership consists of individual visual arts practitioners, curators and administrators, as well as organisations, companies, institutions and service providers that participate in or serve the visual arts sector. VANSA does not seek to replace or duplicate the functions of existing organisations and structures in the sector – it exists to promote greater unity and internal cooperation and communication within the visual arts.

The PMA

The PMA works closely with many of the other industry organisations to ensure professional standards for actors, presenters, dancers, singers, voice over artists and MC's. The PMA is a member of SASFED (South African Screen Federation).


The Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA)

Independent Producers Organisation of South Africa (IPO)

Cape Town City Ballet

Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB) is the oldest surviving performing arts
company in South Africa, and is the country's premier ballet company.
Over 100 performances per annum are produced in formal and informal
venues in and around Cape Town, South Africa and abroad. Repertoires include all the recognised classics like Swan Lake, Giselle and The Nutcracker, performed alongside more athletic and modern works choreographed by local and international choreographers.



Artscape

Originally established 40 years ago as the official performing arts council for the Western Cape, Artscape has today developed into a vibrant, multi-functional creative arts centre, offering exceptional venue facilities and specialist theatrical services.

With its close proximity to Cape Town's central business district, the new International Convention Centre and the V & A Waterfront, Artscape is ideally situated to serve the Cape's performing arts, film, tourism, entertainment, conference and exhibition industries.

Covering an area of some 14 000 square meters, the Artscape complex consists of a fully equipped Opera House, seating 1 487, a theatre seating 540, a smaller theatre seating 140, a piazza, gardens, rehearsal rooms and ample parking.

The Centre offers a full range of technical services, including a vast array of lighting and sound equipment and operators, stage and production managers to ensure a seamless support service to users of the venues.
