AEM-1 Alternator Service

At the end of this module the Learners will be able to:
• Dismantle a typical alternator
• Inspect and test mechanical and electrical components
• Assemble and bench-test the unit

AEM-2 Starter-motor Service

At the end of this module the Learners will be able to:
• Set-up a starter-motor onto a typical test-bench
• Perform and interpret a no-load test
• Test a solenoid
• Perform and interpret a full load test

AEM-3 Starter-motor dismantling & assembling

At the end of this module the Learners will be able to:
• Fully dismantle a typical starter-motor
• Safely clean the individual components
• Re-assemble a starter-motor

AEM-4 Starter-motor component testing & replacement

At the end of this module the Learners will be able to:
• Physically inspect individual components of a typical starter-motor
• Perform electrical tests on components
• Renew worn components

Identify by name all the main components of a typical AC charging system• Describe the function or purpose of the main components• Use basic test equipment in diagnosing faults• Follow a set procedure in fault diagnosing to eliminate any “hit and miss” methods• Rectify commonly encountered problems in the circuit.
