At the end of this module Learners will be able to:
• Name the main parts and functions (armature, frame/stator, brush gear)
• Describe the basic operating principles of the DC Motor & DC Generator
• Explain motor classification (series-wound, shunt-wound, compound motors)
• Perform basic electrical tests i.e.
- continuity tests including terminal (winding) identification
- insulation tests between series and shunt windings
- testing armature circuit (armature, inter-poles and brush gear)
• Perform basic mechanical checks
