Introduction

Aerial triangulation is the most important procedure in photogrammetric workflow. It can provide the exterior orientation parameters of all images and ground coordinates of all pass points within a photogrammetric block, based on photogrammetric measurements and a few control points. And normally aerial triangulation is a very tedious and time-consuming procedure.

The AATM of VirtuoZo, developed by Supresoft Corp., forms an advanced automatic aerial triangulation module with high efficiency and automation, using the unique fast image matching algorithm of the VirtuoZo key technique. Its strong functions include automatic interior orientation, automatic point recognition, automatic point transfer, semi-automatic measurement of control points, multi-interface with variety of block adjustment programs, as well as automatic result clear up.

PATB from K2 Photogrammetry is well-known bundle block adjustment software with strong capability for gross errors detection. Its other characteristics involve accurate adjustment results with high reliability, different cameras within a block, simultaneous adjustment with airborne GPS data, cross photo strips, etc.

VirtuoZo AAT is a robust and organic integration of VirtuoZo AATM module with famous bundle block adjustment software PATB to form a powerful automatic aerial triangulation system.

  • Automatic interior orientation: Automatic fiducial mark recognition and calculation of interior orientation parameters.

  • Automatic generation of stable and reliable block image point network.
