The City is advising beach users to be aware of high shark activity observed at Fish Hoek beach this morning. Already three sightings of sharks have been reported, including an incidence of a shark feeding on a seal. Fish Hoek Beach is presently closed to swimming, and the Shark Spotters’ white flag is flying to warn people not to enter the water. The white flag will fly at least until midday..
At approximately 09h30 today a shark was sighted in Fish Hoek and all water users were called out of the water. It swam on the surface for a short period past a seal and at that stage seemingly (as described by the spotter on duty) didn’t pay it much attention.
