About Patch Of Shore
Patch of Shore collectible shells are all hand-made by pewter artist Andrew Gould. Every shell is completely unique. Each shell is molded using seashells collected from across the coasts of South Africa. The process of creating a Patch of Shore shell is unique. Molten pewter is poured directly into a seashell, which forms the mold. After the pewter has cooled, the exterior of the shell is painstakingly chipped away until only the pewter is left. What remains is the beautiful interior of the shell. As no positive mold is ever made, each shell is entirely unique. Patch of Shore seashells are available as pendants, set in a sterling silver ring or integrated as part of a beautiful “bull’s-eye” glass ornament created by glass artist Liesl Roos
