Client Support

Nicor adopts a methodology whereby every client is allocated an account manager. This account manager is the first line of communication for the client. All account managers are extensively trained in supporting the application software and there is a large pool of consultants for each account manager to access, if required.

Account managers are available 24/7 on their mobiles and e-mail, failing that, the client is able to contact any one of our 2 branches (Durban or Johannesburg offices).

Data Conversions

Nicor is able to offer data conversions from existing systems should this be required. This is dependent on the ability to obtain data structures in respect of those existing systems.
The extent and complexity of data conversion will be highlighted in the gap analysis and only then can estimated costs be provided for data conversion as this process is generally extremely complex and time consuming.

System Implementation

From an implementation point of view, formal project management methodologies are used. Various documents are drawn up and discussed with the client. These include a project charter, a project plan, a gap analysis document, as well as sign-off documentation. Based on the above documentation, the system would then be specifically setup according to client requirements in order to match their business process as closely as possible. Implementation ends once the first statement run has been generated. Thereafter, normal maintenance and support occurs as and when required by the client.

Gap Analysis

We would recommend that a detailed gap analysis be undertaken in conjunction with you in order to highlight, identify, and rectify any shortfalls that may arise between your business processes and the functionality of the Nicor application software. It is the client’s responsibility to highlight any specific business processes prior to implementation.

Modification and Enhancements to the application software

Any software modifications identified will be quoted for on a time and material basis. Implementation/deployment dates and deliverables thereof will be confirmed upon acceptance of the quote.

Training

Nicor prides itself on the quality of training provided to clients, as well as on the flexibility in providing training.
Training may be provided (dependant on client requirements) in a lecture-style format, Train-the-trainer format, Hands-on format, or on-site hand-holding format. The training syllabus/agenda may be customised based on client requirements.
We have found that splitting the training into implementation phase and, later, operational phase seems to be of more benefit to clients. In the implementation phase, clients are taught just enough to do their jobs, and thereafter, once on the system for a short while, more advanced training is done to maximise their efficiency and effectiveness in their jobs.

Nicor has training facilities at our offices in Umgeni, Durban and in Morningside, Johannesburg and a third party facility in Cape Town.
The maximum number of attendees that may be accommodated:

At the Durban academy, hands-on, is 5. For lecture style, this may be increased to 10

At the Johannesburg and Cape Town academy, hands-on, is 10. For lecture style, this may be increased to 20, or alternatively an 80 seated auditorium is available (in Jhb only)

The training syllabus/agenda is customised and based on client requirements. Full documentation is provided in the form of detailed Training Manuals (in line with SETA requirements) as well as User Manuals.
Our training manuals are comprehensive, designed around business processes, and have case studies that the learners complete at the end of each module. Management is presented with statistics at the end of each training session. These statistics provide feedback as to the effectiveness of the training and the skill level of each learner.

Our experience has shown that training is more beneficial when delivered from our training environment, however we are flexible and would offer training at client premises.
