Moditlo Estate and Private Game Reserve – Infrastructure at Moditlo Estate

By: Moditlo  11-11-2011

Infrastructure was installed according to internationally 'First World' accepted standards and was installed underground with water and electricity reticulation each in it's own trench and each on it's own on either side of the road, (to save costs, the normal practice is to install both infrastructures together in one trench) for ease of maintenance.

Power is supplied directly by Eskom and water is supplied by the farm's own underground registered water supply, pumping via a tank farm to a one million litre reservoir via a fully automated telemetric system.

Distribution of water to the estate takes place via a pressure tank on top of the reservoir. Three phase power is supplied via a 3 300 volt step-up-step-down high tension transformer network feeding into a network of mini sub-stations which delivers three phase power to the electric power boxes on each site. The power is split into single phase 220 volt at each outlet.

Roads are constructed via the stabilized base G5 gravel top layer rolled construction method delivering exceptional hard wearing road surfaces without taking away the normal colour of sand roads on the reserve. Several low water drifts as well as a 1 in 100 year flood bridge and storm water drainage systems have been constructed to complete the infrastructure package.
