Lydenburg Museum - Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve
The Lydenburg Museum is located at the entrance of the Gustav Klingbiel Nature Reserve. Daily visitors are welcome and a variety of game may be viewed. This includes Zebra, Impala, Kudu, Eland, Giraffe, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Blesbuck, Mountain Rhebuck, Warthog, Jackal (black backed and side-striped) Caracal, the occasional Leopard and recently introduced Waterbuck. There are some 276 listed bird species which may be spotted including occasional sightings of the rare sugarbird.
Exciting new mountain biking trails were laid out recently! This includes a circular route of some 10 kilometres and very exciting and technical downhill single tracks! The mountain biking routes also serves as short hiking trails and are well marked with arrows. Please note the legend on the map of the Nature Reserve only high clearance and 4x4 vehicles will be able to drive in the Nature Reserve without risk of undercarriage damage!
