Lesedi's Welding & Fabrication Services business unit in Altantis, near Cape Town, which was created in early 2007, employs over 80 people, including coded welders, pipe fitters, boiler makers, semi-skilled artisans and QC personnel.

This unit has strengthened Lesedi's service offering in the engineering industry and serves both the nuclear and non-nuclear industry in which the company operates. The unit's positioning is premised on the delivery of Quality Products, through a highly skilled workforce, coupled with stringent quality control procedures, which complements the organisations already well integrated Quality Management System.

Lesedi Nuclear Services, has been awarded the prestigious International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) 3834 - 2 welding and fabrication certification by the Southern African Institute of Welding (SAIW).

Welding Procedures Qualified are:

  • SMAW, Mig, Tig and FCAW for Carbon Steel (C//S) and for Stainless Steel (S/S)

Materials Covered:

  • Structured Steel - 300 MWA
  • C/S - BS490, SA516, SA106
  • S/S - SA376, SA312, gr304L and 316L
  • All P1 Group 1-4 materials 360, 316 and P8 materials
