Bullistic

Born Sandile Raymond

Ngcobo

was born Umbumbulu

just south of Durban but grew up

in Umlazi U Section.

His older brother Sibonelo Ngcobo (Sosha) who

has produced for a number of big name kwaito

artists around the country, coupled with

Bullistic’s experiences as a youngster growing up

in an urban black township are the factors that

influenced him to pursue a career in music.

I

n 2005 Bullistic recorded his first track “Masidlala” produced by Sosha and

Alcapoem. Even though the song was not officially released it became a major

underground hit in the nightclubs of Durban. This inspired him to record more

material to realise his dream of one day releasing his own album.

In 2007 Bullistic featured in the Amazulu FC Compilation which was given to their

fans as a benefit for their membership. His songwriting skills were now also being

recognised, resulting in him writting and additional song for the compilation that

was performed by none other than kwaito superstar L’vovo Derrango.

His talent and the brand presence that he developed in and around Kwa-Zulu Natal

was recognised by Universal and in 2008 he released an album “The Bully” through

them. Although it did not receive the desired commercial success, the track

“Amakhosi” off the album was adopted by Kaizer Chiefs and played at their matches

nationally.

At the end of 2008 Sosha formed his own record label, 745 Records and recruited a

number of artists.

In 2009 Bullistic recorded a 14 track album with 745 Records titled “Airplay” which

was licensed by KZN Music House – owned and run by the legendary Mbongeni

Ngema and Bongani Mncinela.

The first single,“S’dedel‘ugesi” off the album “Airplay” has enjoyed significant

success on radio obtaining very high rotation on Gagasi 99.5 fm particularly.

This coupled with a comprehensive marketing campaign instituted by KZN Music

House has seen the album start achieving the required commercial success in terms

of sales.

A successful part of the marketing campaign has

Bullistic touring and performing as part of the

annual Ukhozi FM Nyusi Volume campaign as

well as the eThekwini Department of Sports and

Recreation 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup activation

campaign across KZN. This also included a

performance at the 2010 South African Music

Awards (SAMA) pre-party.

To further increase the intensity of the campaign

Bullistic has recorded two music videos, one for

his first single “S’delel’ugesi” and the other for his

second single which has just been sent to radio “Sisonke”.

The fact that he has received investment from KZN Music House for two music

videos is further endorsement of his talents as well as a reflection of KZN Music

House’s commitment to promoting their artists.

With the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup about to launch in South Africa, Bullistic has been

booked as part of the entertainment at a number of fan parks across KZN which will

further cement his brand as another star to emerge from the Fact Durban Rocks era.

It is clear to see that his career thus far surely does dedel’Ugesi.
