For many organisations Employment Equity has been one of the legislations which companies for various reasons have not complied with sufficiently.
One of the main reasons for this is not understanding the act, who is a designated employer, who are the designated groups, or which demographics to use to set Employment Equity Goals.
With changes in the legislation this is no longer an option for organisations, fines starting at R1.5 million and up to 10% of turnover, Employment Equity now moves to a top priority within most companies.
One of the requirements of the act is for organisations to train their employees in the requirements of the Employment Equity Act.
