At present we have two types of contributing members: -Corporate Members. These are persons or companies paying an annual levy to the Association based on planted and tup areas. There are two grades of Corporate Members:

Participating (1st Call)

These members pay levies calculated to cover costs of the infrastructure of aerial fire-fighting operations: 1st Call members are those paying the full levy of R24.9021 (Excluding VAT) per hectare. These members have priority on the pool of aircraft and may withdraw aircraft being used by 2nd call members at any time.

Participating (2nd Call)

2nd Call members pay a reduced levy of R6.034 (Excluding VAT) per planted timber hectare. Non timber growing members will pay a levy of R3.017 (Excluding VAT) per hectare for their total deed area. A minimum charge of R400-00 (Excluding VAT) is applicable to all 2nd call members. These members will only have use of the aircraft not required by 1st call members.

Participating members will be able to use as many available aircraft as may be needed at the time. All such members will be charged the same basic running cost per hour by the Association, which will amount to (all prices exclude VAT and subject to change without notice due to fuel prices fluctuations): -

MIDLANDS 2011 FLYING RATES – Excluding VAT and subject to change due to fuel price fluctuations:

Spotter R 1,900.00

Bomber - R 13,500.00

Huey Helicoper (Weza Base) - R 18,850.00

Bomber Load - R350-00 (Remains Unchanged)

Airstrip Activation - R600-00 (Remains Unchanged)

Helicopter Load - R150-00 (Remains Unchanged)

NEC 2011 FLYING RATES – Excluding VAT and subject to change due to fuel price fluctuations:

Spotter (Ugie Base) - R 1,950.00

Huey Helicopter (Ugie Base) - R 19,300.00

Huey Helicopter (Langeni Base) - R 19,100.00
