KREATE Invests in New Purpose Built Colorant Plant

KREATE announced today that it has completed an investment into a new 5,500 sq meter production facility on the former Siemens site in Herentals close to Antwerpen.

The purpose built colorant production plant has been constructed in conjunction with Intervest Offices NV with whom KREATE has worked for some years.

Intervest’s Business Development Director, Marco Hengst, said “Intervest are particularly pleased that KREATE has chosen us as a partner to assist in the building of their latest growth phase, we’ve worked successfully together for some years and it was a natural choice for both companies”.

KREATE’s Commercial Director, Martin Moore, commented “I’m really pleased with the speed at which the plant has been made ready and we plan to move all non production operations during February and March, with the complete colorant production moved from the old site by the end of April”.

KREATE has grown by over 30% in 2010 and expects to exceed this level of growth in 2011. Martin Moore explained that, “increasing demand from existing customers and exceptional growth in new customers has meant that the need for further capacity was a necessary investment for existing business and to satisfy growth rates, particularly in our new water based technologies”. He also commented that “clearly the market is pleased with our water borne technologies, we’ve invested a lot of R & D time in these products and it’s really very satisfying to see them so well received by particularly the mature tinting markets, our Aquapro line is clearly ahead of our competitions and our sales growth underlines this, as does our current R & D focus which is ultimately driven by our customers”

Lodewijk Rademakers, KREATE’s Production Manager was also particularly pleased with the investment as this also entailed a significant investment in new equipment. As well as new filling lines, fully automatic labelling lines and additional new Mills, it was also an opportunity to invest in some new and unique production techniques, developed by KREATE.

KREATE has become known in the past 7 years as a truly service orientated colorant producer, able to supply a broad range of technologically advanced products and has maintained, unlike it’s competitors, a neutral stance on its approach to the market. This approach together with a lean Management structure has meant that KREATE’s growing customer base is able to respond jointly and dynamically in challenging market conditions.

This latest investment by KREATE brings their European colorant capacity up to over 3,000,000 litres and their global colorant capacity to 4,250,000 litres.

R & D, Colour Services as well as the Marketing Department will continue to based at the Belgium site, whilst full Technical Service and Colour Support Services will continue to be handled both on a centralised and local level.
