Paramedical Skin Care

Skin analysis methods of the past are no longer sufficient to give the knowledge we require about the health of the skin. Accuracy is required to achieve visible and measurable results from skin treatments and products. Our complete and professional skin analysis includes the use of skin diagnostic devices which are valuable in providing proof in the changes of the skins health.

We collect data using:
· The Skin Scanner
· Magnifying Lamp
· Facial Analysis Image Processing
· Skin Diagnostic Unit
· In depth consultation

The Facial Analysis Image Processor takes photographs of the skin and utilizes 3 light sources in order to aid diagnosis.
· White light which provides a normal light image
· Polarization light which shows up area of spots and pigmentation
· UV light which shows up porphyrins and sebum

This device is used to analyse pores, wrinkles, sebum, pigmentation and skin tone.

We make use of a skin diagnostic machine to digitally measure lipid, hydration, melanin depth, and erythema levels. This device is very accurate and even the most difficult skin conditions are easily diagnosed.

The Skin Scanner makes use of “black light” which allows the therapist to look “behind” or “through” the skin in order to see far more detail than is visible with the naked eye. The skin scanner aids in evaluating pigmentation, skin density, and sebaceous secretions.

It is highly recommended to book in for a skin analysis consultation before starting any facial treatments. This will enable the therapist to make personalized recommendations based on the needs of your skin.

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive method of improving the skin’s texture and appearance. The therapist uses a hand piece which emits fine crystals onto the surface of the skin, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead outer layer of skin. This technique exfoliates and gently resurfaces the skin, promoting the formation of new smoother, clearer skin. By removing superficial layers of the skin, microdermabrasion allows new skin to appear and even stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen.

Microdermabrasion can be used to successfully treat:
· Rough skin texture
· Certain types of scarring
· Uneven pigmentation
· Age spots
· Fine lines
· Open pores
· Dull, devitalized skin

Microdermabrasion is usually performed on the face, neck and décolleté, but can be performed on any part of the body (such as the back of the hands).

After even one treatment you will notice improvements in texture, and the appearance of refreshed looking skin, but as with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.

Ultrapeel® Transderm® can be considered a virtual syringe, allowing transdermal delivery of active substances without the use of a needle.

This treatment is performed using Dermoelectroporation® technology. Dermoelectroporation® uses electrical pulses that are controlled in value, time duration and electrical characteristics which the skin can tolerate with no adverse side effects. These electrical pulses temporarily alter the lipidic components of the cell membrane, forming watery channels in the cellular membrane that opens the pores. These alterations allow the penetration of a large variety of products that would otherwise be prevented from entering the skin.

Dermoelectroporation® technology boosts the transdermal delivery rate to approximately 5 times the rate normally obtainable with a topical application.

This procedure is non-invasive and painless, and can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns including:
· Dull, dehydrated skin
· Acne conditions
· Loss of skin tone and elasticity
· Sun damaged skin
· Fine lines and wrinkles
· Hyperpigmentation

Excessive dead cell build up and poor skin function contribute to wrinkles, fine lines, premature ageing, pigmentation, blackheads and breakouts.

These dead and dying skin cells remain attached to the younger underlying cells, resulting in a dull, devitalized skin. To remove this build up the therapist performs a series of enzymatic treatments.

Enzymes, which are nature’s biological catalyst work by:
· Hydrolysing dead cell build up
· Increasing oxygenation for tissue regeneration and repair
· Increasing cellular activity, improving skin function
· Opening the vascular system for superior skin nourishment
· Encouraging the formation of new collagen and elastin for tighter, firmer skin
· Removing toxins, debris and gases from skin cells, leaving a clearer, cleaner complexion
· Activating lymphatic drainage to eliminate waste materials

Releasing anti-oxidants to fight and combat free radical damage that causes premature ageing

Peels are used to remove the over-thickening of the dead layer of cells from the skin. This layer of dead skin cells contributes to wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation and sun spots. With regular peels this outer dead layer is removed and the skin becomes firmer and smoother, even in colour and texture. A series of peels may be needed to obtain optimal results on a specific skin concern.

Actions of peels are:
· Smoothes wrinkles
· Improves sun damaged skin
· Helps eliminate and control pigmentation
· Helps uneven skin tone
· Smoothes uneven skin texture
· Stimulates cellular growth while increasing collagen production

What is the Dermaroller?
The Dermaroller is a device studded with extremely fine needles. It is used to stimulate collagen production in the skin.

What does it treat?
The Dermaroller can be used for the following conditions:
· Skin rejuvenation of lines and wrinkles
· Acne scarring
· Post-operative scarring
· Increase the skins elasticity

Lam Probe helps to remove those unsightly minor skin irregularities that bother us. The Lam Probe works on the principle of liquids being attracted to heat which is released by various probes. Treatments are very quick (some within a few seconds), and may not even touch the skin's surface. Small skin tags or blood spots disappear immediately and hyperpigmented areas such as liver or "age spots" take only a few seconds. There is minimal discomfort and healing time is short .

Treatment can be done on:
· Skin tags
· Cherry Angiomas
· Facial thread veins

If you have very blonde or red hair you will need to have a consultation with a practitioner to determine whether there is enough pigment in the hair for you to have a successful treatment. Intense pulsed light is absorbed by the melanin of a pigmented lesion or the haemoglobin in a dilated capillary and repairs the damage caused by ageing and the sun.

Pain relief is generally unnecessary unless you are having lip enhancement, where an anaesthetic injection may be used to remove any tenderness in the procedure. A simple treatment to dramatically soften facial expression lines and leave you looking younger and more refreshed. Treatment time takes around 15minutes to half an hour depending on the number of areas you wish to treat.

Pigments are matched to each individuals colouring or a specific brow pencil colour, ranging from light blonde to black. Pigments will be mixed according to individual requirements, from soft lip tones to darker more defined colours. This involves enhancing the eyes: top, bottom or both, either a soft natural look or a more defined line. This is a process whereby pigments are placed under the skin by means of superficial scratching.
