Based loosely on
Rudyard Kipling’s 'The Jungle Book', Cubs is a programme for boys and girls aged 7 – 11. Drawing inspiration from the story, and the training of
the boy Mowgli, Cubs are taught foundational life-skills through fun
programmes, at levels appropriate to their age and growth. This makes full use
of the need for adventure and the vivid imagination of this age group. Games of all kinds, simple skills, sense training,
outings and camps, stories, music, acting and handcrafts are all combined to
form a unique programme for this age group. The Cubs are encouraged to do their
best in all that they do, as reflected in their Cub Promise.
Scouts is a programme for young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Best described as 'training in action', the Scout programme is full of action and adventure, mainly through outdoor, practical activities.
Leadership skills, competitiveness,
creativity and respect for oneself and for others are an important part of the
program at 29th Valhalla. Build your confidence, make decisions, work as part
of a team… and Be Prepared for any challenge that life may throw at you.
