Debt Review is a process where a consumer gets assistance from an NCR registered Debt Counsellor. The Process starts with an application for Debt Review and is done when the consumer receives a Clearance certificate after all debts have been settled. The time of the process may vary and all depends on how much debt the consumer has to repay. An NCR approved Debt Counsellor will assist the consumer in dealing with his/her debt. The Debt Counsellor will deal with all the credit providers the consumer received credit from and calculate a payment agreement which will allow to cover the consumer’s living expenses and distribute the remainder of the money to the creditors. The Debt Counsellor will look at the applicant’s financial circumstances and make a recommendation to the creditors and deal with the courts concerning the restructuring of the debt and could even in some circumstances help to cancel certain credit agreements due to Reckless Lending.
