All assessments of children and adolescents include interviews with the parents, the child,
schoolteachers and other therapists and medical doctors involved with a child. Child and adolescent therapy
usually begins with the therapist meeting a child's parents in order to gather background information. This
allows us to understand the problem and determine how best to address it.
After an initial assessment, I make recommendations regarding what type and frequency of therapy
would be most helpful. The feedback session after the evaluation period can outline the difficulties identified
and results in a discussion of treatment options including play therapy and parental guidance. This may be individual
therapy for the child along with follow-up consultations with the parents to discuss parenting issues, or family
therapy. Some issues that has been identified may be best addressed with a combination of these interventions.

- Emotional / Personality
- Scholastic Ability and Functioning
