Course description
This course is presented with the latest international evidenced based teachingDVD’s, power point presentations and interactive practical skills.

Curriculum includes
Principles of first aid and safety. Emergency Scene Management. Initial patientassessment.
Adult and child CPR and AED use. Artificial respiration & helping a personwho is choking.
Getting Help - how to access appropriate emergency services. (Emergency telephonenumbers).
Bruises, strains & sprains
Eye injuries: foreign body and trauma
Fractures & dislocations
Head & face injuries
Heart attack and stroke
Minor Injuries: blisters, nose bleeds, scrapes & grazes, splinters
Spinal injury
Stings & bites

Course Length: Two days

Course certificate
Successfulcandidates will receive an accredited Department of labor first aid certificatevalid for 3 years as well as a American Heart Association Heartsaver First AidCertificate valid for two years.

Intended Audience
Personnel in theworkplace who require by law a current valid first aid certificate (eg.factories, offices, restaurants, construction sites etc).

Student Materials:

Latest edition First Aid CPR and AED manual(American Heart Association)
Key ring wallet with gloves, mouth to mouth barrier device and memory aidcards.
