Producing good vacuum is only part of the vacuum process. In order to produce consistant results you also need to accurately measure the vacuum produced.
Our specialists will assist you to select a suitable gauge for the vacuum range that you wish to measure. A simple bourdon type vacuum gauge will provide rough repeatable results from atmosphere to full vacuum. Unfortunately this type of gauge is not compensated for altitude and the reading will vary according to the altitude where the gauge is used. If you require an accurate measurement select a gauge that is barometrically compensated for altitude.
Capsule type vacuum dial gauges will give a true barometrically compensated vacuum reading. CG16 K Capsule gauges are available in 0 to 25 mbar, 0 to 50 mbar and 0 to 1000 mbar ranges and may be pipeline or panel mounted.
If you have a need to accurately measure wider ranges of vacuum you will need a Pirani type vacuum gauge.

Compact gauges read the full vacuum range. Model VD85 will read from 1600 to 0.0001 millibars.

Compact user friendly highly accurate
An addition useful feature of Thyracont's compact gauge is the ability of the gauge to operate within a vacuum chamber. Simply place the gauge in the vacuum chamber and you can read the vacuum gauge from outside the chamber.
A practical application of this feature is when vacuum packing food. The vacuum gauge may be placed in the clear plastic bag containing the food. The level of vacuum achieved in the sealed bag during the vacuum packing process may be observed through the bag for quality control purposes. The gauge may be left in the bag to see if the vacuum deteriorates. If the vacuum deteriorates there is leakage into the bag indicating a poor seal on the bag and the food would spoil as a result.
In addition to these features there are additional benefits.
Compact vacuum gauges even have a memory. Data relating to the vacuum level achieved during the vacuum cycle is stored within the vacuum gauge. This data may be transferred without cables via infra red to your PC.
