Vacuum Degassing Chambers
Produce crystal clear professional quality resin castings and defect free silicone moulds by degassing resins and silicones prior to casting in our Speedivac degassing chambers.
Observe the degassing process through the clear acrylic top. Watch as the silicone bubbles and boils to four times it's original volume as the air trapped within the silicone is released. When the frothing subsides the silicone is ready to be poured producing a perfect mould without voids or surface defects.
Degassing virtually eliminates rejects in moulds and castings saving you time and material. Because your castings are so much better they will not require tedious hand finishing to correct surface defects. Parts made from clear resin will be free from bubbles which affect both appearance and the strength of the cast item.
Electrical components such as circuits and transformers may be encapsulated (potted) under vacuum and will produce better electrical properties. If you have a circuit that that you do not wish to be disassembled for safety or security reasons encapsulate the item in resin. Your secrets will not only be permanently protected but your product will also have a more professional appearance.
Items may be stored under vacuum in your vacuum chamber. When these Items are intended for use in electron microscopes they may be outgassed or dried before they are placed in the electron microscope. Use your Speedivac degassing chamber as a vacuum source for processes such as resin transfer moulding. Attach a nozzle fitting to the air admittance valve and the vacuum chamber provides a useful vacuum source complete with vacuum reservoir and gauge. The vacuum pump is continuously rated and may be operated for indefinite periods under vacuum.
Your vacuum chamber may be used for any application where a controlled vacuum environment is needed such as required for calibration of aircraft instruments. Altimeters may be accurately calibrated by simulating altitude using an accurate Thyracont digital vacuum gauge placed within the vacuum chamber.
