Travel consultants will be assigned to handle all your travel requests through our in-house travel office. Similarly, our tour consultants will handle all tour requests. 

Our Travel Consultants will work the best routing with the shortest and most convenient times for departure and arrivals, with the rules and restrictions governing the fares. As standard practice, every travel related query received by us will be provided 3 (three) options in terms of pricing and routing by e-mail. 

Waitlisted bookings will be monitored by the Consultants and alternative itineraries will be given to travelers for consideration as we wait for the waitlisted flight bookings to come through. 

We have also implemented an in-house Quality Assurance Software to monitor requests from our clients. This in-house software was awarded the

 award for innovation in 2010. 

Safaris / Tours

Our team of trained tour consultants takes care of all local tour and hotel bookings in East Africa. We have excellent relations with many suppliers who update us on the offers and developments on their properties. Our tour consultants have visited most parks and properties in East Africa and they freely share their first hand knowledge to ensure all clients get the desired accommodation. 

We also organize short excursion trips for passengers with long transit wait times before their connecting flights.

We also organize outbound tours through our Outbound Tours Department. We offer our clients supreme packages of tailor-made tours to any part of the world. Our tour consultants are also able to advise on availability and rates for hotel and car-hire services offered worldwide via GDS systems.

At the end of a work day, rest in comfort knowing that your hotel room has been booked at the lowest corporate rates available. We can also block rooms for meetings or conferences.

Protect your travel investments by purchasing travel insurance. Upon request and for a fee, our Consultants can advise the coverage that best fits your needs in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

Upon request and for a fee, Rickshaw Travels can provide our clients with transfers to and from the airport.

Saloon cars and mini-vans are part of our own fleet, whereas buses are sub-contracted. The vehicles undergo regular mechanical inspection and have proper and valid certifications inclusive of PSV license, road license and Comprehensive Insurance.

Our drivers possess valid certificates of good conduct, drivers' licenses, are medically insured and wear uniforms for identification. Our drivers prioritize your safety and are instructed to use the safeest routes to your destinations.

We provide our transport emergency contact for the unaccepted emergencies which may occur. The transfer service offers the following advantages:-

  • Clients are picked up from their designated pick up points and dropped off at their destinations.
  • Clients are allocated cars that are designated specifically for them.
  • 24 Hour emergency phone numbers are provided to our clients in case of any emergency.

We provide this service to all our clients upon request and a fee.

This service is best suited for first time travelers into the country, students, unaccompanied minors, elderly passengers and VIPs.

We also offer other specialized services within the Meet and Assist Service as highlighted below:

A valid passport with at least 6 months left before it expires is mandatory. Travellers are responsible for obtaining their visas. Some countries require you have at least one or two empty pages in the passport. Because visa regulations and requirements are changing constantly, we strive to send you the last update at time of booking for your country of travel.  In Kenya and Tanzania, visas can be obtained on arrival.  If you decide to obtain your visas upon arrival in Kenya or Tanzania, kindly ensure your currency is post 2001 and in good condition.

Rickshaw Travels will provide you, upon request, assistance with obtaining visas. 

Rules and regulations of the respective embassies and consulates will apply, however, details pertaining to each of these will be communicated to you as and when the need arises.

Certain embassies require you to apply for visas in person. In such cases all the prerequisites will be prepared and you will be ssisted up until the point of appearing in person at the embassy.

Japan Airlines is a member of the "one world" Alliance partner network.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has a code sharing agreement with Emirates Airline, which means that JAL has allocated seats on all Emirates flights flying daily into Osaka and Tokyo in Japan. The code share agreement also includes JAL domestic connecting flights between Tokyo, Fukuoka and Sapporo, as well as many other cities in Japan. This eases business and tourism travel to Japan from the African and Gulf regions.
