Aloe & Avocado | Rain Africa

By: Rain Africa  11-11-2011
Keywords: Aloe

This range takes inspiration from two quite different sources blended together into one harmonious, utterly indulgent skincare product.
The Rain factory is situated in aloe country in the southernmost tip of Africa, a region famous for harnessing the properties of the indigenous Aloe ferox. Far away to the North, cosseted in the warmth of the Lowveld region where winter never ventures and magnolias bloom all year round are the avocado plantations that provide the vitamin-rich, glossy creams and oils we use.
The sumptuousness and texture of the avocado, intensified by the gift of a sun-drenched climate, provide the perfect counterpoint to the water retentive aloe, folkloric with healing and health giving properties.

African Rain | Rain Africa

At the southernmost tip of Africa two mighty oceans – the sensuous Indian and the coldly furious Atlantic – collide in one of the most spectacular and terrifying stretches of coastline on earth. Here hidden reefs become graveyards for stricken ships while small bays are havens for birthing whales who travel weary on their long annual pilgrimage to the Southern ocean.

African Spa | Rain Africa

Southern africa’s traditional healers or ‘inyangas’ have relied for centuries on the medicinal plants of the region for the ingredients of balms, tinctures, infusions and salves, gathered in the wild. The knowledge of these wise herbalists was passed on through oral tradition and today modern science has confirmed the curative value of many of south africa’s indigenous plants.
