At Manners 4 Minors we feel that there isn't really a bullying epidemic in our schools, but rather, a lack of consideration for others.
The children in the age group of 4—8 years are in the testing phase of their lives and most things are learnt through trial and error. They are trying to find where they stand within their group of peers and sometimes the efforts to be included come across the wrong way.
As part of our Social Responsibility Programme, Manners 4 Minors offers Bully Workshops, free of charge, to the schools in their area.
We teach the children that sometimes we can have accidents and that is does not necessarily mean we are being bullied. We introduce the puppets and the personalities and we find that the children recognise their character traits within the puppets. We also teach the children that there are two types of bullies—physical and verbal– and give them the tools to deal with the situation.
