It requires hours of planning and, in order to make it successful, and endless attention to detail. An event could be anything from a media dinner for six people to a gala banquet for 1000 people. No matter what the occasion, there are certain basic guidelines that should be followed. This two day accredited skills will equip the learner with skills to assist in the planning of an event. The learner will also be introduced to various types of events and how to compile comprehensive checklists to ensure smooth planning and implementation. This skills programme will focus on a full range of events including conferences, exhibitions, seminars and events on behalf of both the private (corporate) and public (government) clients. The aim will be to introduce and equip learners to plan and implement event management from a strategic rather than tactical approach. Case studies will be used as examples to transfer knowledge. In the case of in-house training the practical can be done based on actual events of the client. Each learner must submit a portfolio of evidence (PoE) within a specific time frame. Re-submissions: When a learner is found Not Yet Competent, they will be given one chance to re-submit, they will have 36 days (weekends & holidays included) to complete their PoE/ Assignment. Should they not meet this deadline or if they are found Not Competent for the second time they will have to book, pay and attend the programme/course at their own expense. Certification: The attendance of the first day of class as well as a total minimum of 80% class attendance is compulsary in order to be eligible to hand in your PoE/Assisgnment. After the successful completion of this skills programme and the portfolio of evidence (PoE), learners will receive a certificate of competence.
