By definition graphic design is the skill of creating and than arranging various elements into a communication that is both pleasing to the eye and conveys the intended
message. Graphic design unlike fine art or other creative activities seeks to solve a problem of a commercial or informative nature. The designer is therefore creating a
design to solve a client's communication objectives not for their own personal expression though every designer will have their own unique style.
There are normally communication objectives and application requirements for each design; there should also be an overall brand communication strategy, which each design should
fit into. Effective graphic design is both creative and visually impactful, while communicating the correct message.
Traditionally the realm of print media, now a day's graphic design covers the design of communications and interfaces across multiple formats and media. It is becoming
increasingly important for a brand's identity and communication strategy to cover communication across print, online, mobile, signage, vehicle or any point where the
client / consumer could make contact with their brand.
