Helping Hand, together with the Polsslag Voortrekker Commando in Centurion and Louis Leipoldt Primary School, initiated a Week of Caring last year. “With the growing awareness of poverty and need in our communities, it is crucial that a culture of caring is cultivated among the youth,” said Dr Danie Langner, Executive Director of Helping Hand. “The project was very successful in 2010 and promoted a positive attitude towards community service and community awareness among the pupils.

The youngest founder of a bursary fund at Solidarity Helping Hand’s Afrikaans Bursary Institute, Suné Zaaiman, is once again busy raising funds for the Bursary Fund which she started when she was 10 years old. Solidarity Helping Hand’s donations office received a donation of 2 328 bags of clothing and bedding from the organisation Eksderde over the weekend.
