Metal PTFE Composite is just like it sounds, a combination of the slippery , low friction properties of PTFE in a thin metal coating. Typically less than 20 microns in thickness (0.02mm) this coating can be applied to any steel as well as aluminium. Super fine particles of PTFE make up 20-25% of the coating volume and are preserved evenly in the electroless nickel coating. This coating is suitable for low load applications where inherent lubricity is required in the surface and is often used when items are expected to have low or no lubrication. The nickel matrix also adds significantly to adding corrosion resistance. MTC has also been successfully used as a permanent in mould release coating for plastic and polyeurethane moulding applications.
