JIMS huge success for Scania
The Johannesburg International Motor show that opened on the 6th of October 2011 and finished last Sunday 16 October 2011, was a great event for us here at Scania South Africa. Without expectation the sales force accumulated more than 20 sales from the show. Our imported Scania R999 1000Hp vehicle, dubbed “Scania Showstopper” in numerous articles as well as TV and radio shows had people flocking to our stand in their numbers to get a glimpse of the power every single time we started it or burnt some rubber. The event had the general public in awe at what Scania, generally perceived as a straight down the line business company could get up to if we tell people we have a fun side. And the R999 showed our fun side to the people as plenty youngsters took some burnt rubber home as a sample of what raw Scania power is all about. Scania SA enjoyed the show and is very proud of the fact that we could put truck and bus back on the map in a small way here in South Africa, as the general public used to see transport and logistics as an extremely low key business unit. Now that the public spent some time on our stand with questions by the millions, they have a better idea of transport as well as superior vehicle solutions. “I am trading in my car for one of these”, exclaimed another gentleman after sitting in our new limited edition R620 Euro 4 vehicles. The launch of our R620 vehicles were gladly accepted by the media and public once they saw that we strive to bring down emissions in our country. The 6 blue vehicles on display had the Nordic blue gods on them with a small history to it. We decided to call it the Nordic blue edition due to the vehicles being fitted with Adblue tanks that neutralizes the NOX gasses inside the catalytic converter. The six owners of these vehicles took delivery of them on the 7th of October and were very pleased to form part of a very exclusive group of transporters in South Africa that is truly making a difference in saving our planet one drop at a time.
