Are you a talented young editor looking for a break into the exciting world of commercials?
Showcase your skills to the wider film community and win a 5-day FCP Training Course from Purple Mouse, an internship with Aces Up Commercials Post Production Facility, a paid commercial job from 7Films, the opportunity to grade and on-line your commercial at The Blade Works as well as exposure to the industry at large. The winning PSA will be submitted to all the major competitions across the world and will get R250 000.00 worth of airtime.
General Post is launching an exciting new competition to find and showcase the best new talent South Africa has to offer. We are privileged to have secured some really great partners to give our rising star winner the opportunity of working with the best our industry has to offer:
Ireland/Davenport have come up with amazing creative that we know will challenge and excite entrants. Word is that they are the agency to watch and we are very excited to have access to their awesome brand of creativity.
7Films will be donating their time and expertise to produce the PSA and one of their own rising stars, up-and-coming young director, Wednesday, will be directing the PSA. In addition the winning editor will get the opportunity to work on a paid job for 7Films.
Aces Up are giving the winner an internship - the opportunity to kick-start their career by working professionally in the exciting world of commercials editing and getting to know the movers and shakers in the both the Film/TV and advertising industries.
Purple Mouse, our long-time training partner, have sponsored a five day Final Cut Pro 7, Apple Certified training course to help the winner hone their skills.
We are hoping this competition will be the start of a series of such initiatives to give post-production professionals of varying genres and experience exposure and opportunities to work on innovative and exciting projects.
