Get covered with C-Cover

Depending on your choice of added subscription fee, C-Cover covers you for:

  • Up to R12500 depending on the value of your cellphone, in the case of theft, loss and damage
  • Up to R2000 lost airtime for unlawful usage
  • Up to R3000 on your outstanding balance due to death, involuntary retrenchment or permanent disability

Just remember, the covered SIM card must be used together with the covered handset and your cellphone must only be used on the Cell C network. Should you upgrade or replace your phone during the contract period, it is up to you the subscriber to let us know.

How do I report an incident? Cellphone is lost or stolen
You must contact the Customer Care on 084 140 from your landline or 140, free from a Cell C cellphone, to obtain an ITC number. Only once the ITC number is obtained can you report the matter to the police for a case number. The case number is only used for C-Cover incidents or to blacklist your cellphone.

  • Telephonic Option - which is the fastest
    In order to blacklist your cellphone, you can simply dial 084 140 from your landline or 140, free from a Cell C cellphone, to have the phone blacklisted. No documentation is required.

What happens when you have recovered your lost/stolen phone

  • Phone Cell C immediately on 140 from a Cell C cellphone or 084 140 from any other phone (charged at cellular rates) to unfreeze your account.
  • Complete the forms and fax them back to us on 084 14329.

What to do when your cellphone is damaged

  • Call 140 toll-free from a Cell C cellphone or 084 140 from any other phone (normal cell rates apply).
  • Select the technical repair option and obtain the details of your nearest technical repair centre.
  • Send your cellphone to the technical repair centre.
  • The technicians will inspect and repair your cellphone.

Mobile Number Portability - Change to Cell C

In the event that your SIM card is lost or stolen, simply purchase a new Cell C starter pack, call our call centre and activate the new pack on your existing cellphone number. If you activate your new Cell C SIM card before following the steps above, you will not be able to use it to port your number. You will receive two confirmation SMS’s within two hours on your MTN, Vodacom or Virgin Mobile SIM.


Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) - Cell C

Pre -determined applications (Facebook, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, BB Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and the BB Application Centre) will be sent to the customer's handset upon service activation.


International Roaming - Cell C South Africa

Please note that due to Foreign Network restrictions, some Foreign Roaming subscribers may experience problems when trying to dial to international destinations. There may be up to a 3 month delay in call charges reflecting on statements due to the late downloading of Call Data Records from foreign networks. Cell C now has 540 roaming partners in 186 countries offering its subscribers access to four Maritime Services and one satellite network.
