I can sum up this cooler in one word..GARBAGE, JUNK, TRASH, CHEAP, HORRID! Ok that''s 5 words but you get my point. I have built a lot of systems over the years and I have NEVER seen a cooler this bad. To start the instructions are nearly worthless. It''ll give you just enough info to make you dangerous when putting this thing on but that''s about it. The "adhesive" they give you is actually worse than the design and quality of this cooler. Even when you make sure to use all the epoxy in the containers (I went as far as to split them open to get every last bit)it still has the consistancy of chocolate syrup. No matter how long you mix it. Due to this it''s going to get EVERYWHERE! Use just a tiny drop and it''s all over the place, like on the connections and in little spots where you have no hope of removing it. If this stuff is electricly conductive then both my cards are now junk. Even better, it NEVER hardened and it''s been almost 2 days! It cured to the point of old chewing gum and no further. To make matters worse, the mounting plate is so thin and cheap that one of the screws mounting it to the card STRIPPED OUT just from the slight bend in the card itself. So now the cold plate won''t make contact with the GPU. Also, I''m not sure if Arctic bothered to even check, but if you''re using an SLI system you''re SLI bridge WON''T FIT! The cooler sticks out to far (even when you mount it in the lowest position) for it to reach. Frozen CPU should really check into this before someone else runs into these same problems. DO NOT BUY!!!!!
Anyone looking to cool down their video card should just buy this thing.. period. My stock 560ti was idling at ~50 degrees with the stock fans sitting at 35%. If I jacked the fans up to 100%, I could get it to the low 40''s (if you want to put up with the horrifically loud fans that is).
After installing this thing, I''m idling at ~26 degrees. My load temps have dropped from roughly 80 to 50, and that''s with the voltage at 1.1 with a 1GHZ overclock.
Temps aside, the added heat sinks for the RAM and voltage regulators is worth it.
I would note two things, however, if you''re considering this piece of goodness. First, if you''re running an SLI setup, beware. My card went from 2 slots of space to 3. Also, the directions stated that the cure time on the thermal adhesive (for the heat sinks and voltage regulators) required a 5 hour curing time but I found that they were still "loose" after that time. I let it sit over night and when I woke up, everything was pretty solid. So just keep that in mind.
