Architraves are purpose build per opening; - in other words - we measure every door or opening and custom build the architrave to fit only that one position. The reason for this is that very seldom you get an opening that is square and the same size all-round.

Once the measurements have been taken, the order gets processed and construction on the item starts. This happens in our factory and not on site.

As soon as the construction portion is finished, the item goes through a vigorous finishing process whereby the stain gets applied and is finished in a hardwearing satin varnish that is applied by airbrush.

Then it is off to the site again for final installation.

We also cover up existing steel door frames with architraves and homeowners need not remove them in order to fit wooden frames.

Exclusive Skritings in the news

We are currently involved with high profile jobs at Pecanwood Golf Estate in the Hartebeespoortdam area, as well as the multi million rand upgrading project of the Impala Minepro Laboratories. Just a quick reminder to our clients - with world economic markets in turmoil, and the rand loosing value to the dollar, another price increase looks likely very soon.

Dado Rails

The traditional purpose of a dado rails is to protect the wall from the backs of chairs - but in the modern context they are purely used to create warmth and a clear defined space. The use of dado rails is very effective in brightening up a dreary dull space because of our human tendency to search for order and lines in nature. Dado rails are mounted horizontally on the wall around the perimeter of a room, normally at a height of 900mm.
