Eshowe Community Action Group
The ECAG is not only involved in building classrooms, but also in sourcing other educational needs for children, such as reading material, computers and science equipment. The ECAG has a sub project called the Stay in School Fund, which provides opportunities for those whose parents cannot afford to send them to school for some reason, be it due to distance having to be travelled, buying of uniforms etc, School Principals advise the ECAG staff on children requiring assistance, and donors are then sought to help finance uniforms, books, stationery, transport and personal needs. This project has provided 17 children, from various schools in KwaZulu Natal, with the opportunity of gaining qualitative education and has enabled them to grow physically, mentally and socially. For our projects to be successful, it is essential that we build partnerships with various organisations, clubs and networks so that our goals can be achieved.
