Similar to television shows like Cashmere Mafia and Sex and the City, career minded women in Port Elizabeth now have a platform to come together to share contacts, laughs and experiencs over cocktails. This is the concept behind Girl on the Move, the brainchild of Janet Pereira, owner of Urban Lava Advertising."The idea came to me while standing in the kitchen making dinner for the kids and my partner after rushing home late from work. I wanted to start a social networking function geared towards woman who work and know what it feels like to be here, there and everywhere at once,' she said.According to event organiser Lauren Booth, apart from being an event to network and unwind, Girl on the Move offers those attending the chance to do their bit for charity by donating a protion of the events entry fee to the Animal Welfare. Keeing with the animal theme they will host a "Just Walking the Dog Honey" fashion show and brunch which will replace the cocktail party. "Animal Welfare is very close to my heart. I have a great respect for animals, especially dogs, and we beleive there are many out there who feel the same way and wish they were able to do more," says Lauren. For R150-00 women are able to register their business and advertise it and reeive monthly updates and upcoming events.
Girl on the Move Club Launch   The launch was a great success at Shhugar on Friday 31st July 2009.
