What is Guided Meditation?
This is something quite different from meditating on your own. Being guided in meditation has a specific intention and is tailormade for each client to meet their needs where they are at. During each session, you are guided safely, with imagery, to a place where you feel at safe, peace, cocooned in order to effect a change within you. This may be for the purpose of progressive muscle relaxation, complete inner stillness, freedom of thought, focus with homeowrk or studies, self-esteem issues, body image issues, support through various allopathic treatments (eg: chemotherapy), pain management, chakra cleansing, dealing with insomnia, working with childhood issues and much more. Because this is very personal and because each session differs from person to person, these are best done on an individual basis. They can either be a precursor to a Reiki treatment or can stand completely alone and can take from 30 - 90 minutes. A gift worth giving yourself or even a loved one especially since you don't have to do anything yourself but breathe.

Meditation, very simply, is the calming of the mind. It is not the chasing away of thoughts, nor is it voiding the mind of any and all thoughts all together. Rather, it is the practice of mindfulness, containment, which allows the spirit to be heard above the clanging sound of the ego.
What are the benefits of Meditation? Why is it so important to practice daily?
There are so many benefits to meditating regularly. Some of them include a decrease of anxiety, an increase of mental focus, reduction in stress (now who doesn't want that?), it effectively assists in the treatment of many ailments including heart disease, addictions, leads to a sense of wellbeing and even helps in your relationships.
