Award-winning edgeBOXTM platformâs
latest release includes support for a robust auto provisioning system that
creates huge cost savings for Critical Linksâ customers.
FAIRFIELD, NJ, May 26, 2011 - , a global provider of unified voice, data,
security and IT solutions for SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses) and service
providers, has announced the release of a comprehensive auto-provisioning
system for its award-winning edgeBOXTM platform.
The edgeBOXTM Auto Configuration
Server (eACS) allows auto- provisioning of a complete configuration to a single
remote edgeBOX or to a group of edgeBOX appliances. With the new release
126.96.36.199, all models of the edgeBOX TM , from Soho to Enterprise, will support this feature.
The major benefits of the Auto-Configuration
feature include easy remote provisioning, management and monitoring. These lead
to huge cost savings for service providers by eliminating truck-rolls to
customer premises and visits to remote locations. Pre-provisioning makes the
edgeBOXTM a zero-touch solution that requires zero user
intervention. Once the edgeBOXTM reaches the customer, you can
switch it on and have it contact the management server automatically. Therefore
the edgeBOXTM gets its first customer configuration without any user
The web-based management console comes with a
range of options such as pre-authorization, applying a base configuration to
the edgeBOXes at any time and monitoring the device status remotely. The
platform includes support for popular tools and protocols such as Nagios, Netflow
and edgeMANAGERTM (a group console), now available with google maps
integration. It is optimized for fast access and direct management of remote
The edgeBOXTM has a full-fledged IP telephony
system, smoothly integrated with email, contact database, calendars, security,
VPN, file sharing, presence, switchboard and much more. The voice and data
services integration improves employee productivity, simplifies installation,
maintenance and upgrades, and dramatically reduces equipment, communications,
and maintenance costs for SMBs. It is available on a range of scalable
platforms for companies with 5 to 300 users.
âThe new Auto-provisioning system is a major
enhancement to the edgeBOXTM platform, which already comes with
extensive remote management capabilities. It brings dramatic cost savings to
telecom operators as well as business customers with multiple or remote
locations. The Auto-configuration server also gives our clients easy and more
flexible remote configuration and management capabilities.â commented Antonio
Alves, Vice President of Engineering at Critical Links.
