Clyde Space provides affordable, high performance subsystems for small satellites and microspacecraft. All of our products demonstrate excellent performance specifications and most have extensive space pedigree. In order to satisfy the needs of all our customers, we have split our products into 2 ranges: standard products that are available to buy online, and one off procurements for a specific project. These one off products can be bespoke designs incorporating heritage circuits, or a completely new design.

In addition to our off-the-shelf products, Clyde Space has a wide selection of heritage systems for non-standard spacecraft. Our Systems include in-house developed products from here at Clyde Space and licensed products from Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. Clyde Space offers high performance, bespoke designs for small satellite missions. Our solutions include complete or part Power Conditioning and Distribution Systems (PCDU), Lithium Polymer Batteries, Solar Arrays and DC-DC Converters.

Electrical Power Systems

Our power system range has excellent performance specifications and extensive flight heritage. The designs are modular and have the flexibility to be easily configured to meet the requirements of bespoke projects. Our four main small satellite power system products are: SmallGEO Power; SmallSat Power; NanoSat Power; CubeSat Power.

Spacecraft Batteries

Clyde Space is a leading supplier of Space Qualified Lithium Polymer Batteries for Small Satellites. The cells that we have selected for space use have undergone extensive evaluation to assess their suitability for the space environment - including leak and bulge tests. Life tests have demonstrated that our battery is ideal for small satellite missions.

Solar Panels

Using our experience the design and manufacture of spacecraft solar panels, we have developed processes based on traditional techniques that will allow us to supply small solar arrays for small satellite manufacturers at a price that meets the budget - not blows the budget.

Space DC-DC Converters

Clyde Space has designed and manufactured a number of high efficiency, galvanically isolated and multiple output DC-DC Converters for space use.

One is designed for Low Earth Orbiting small satellite applications, utilising COTS components and the other is for applications requiring very high reliability and radiation tolerances up to 100krads - note that this converter range can also be produced to 100krads ITAR free.

Spacecraft Batteries | Clyde Space

The cells that we have selected for space use have undergone extensive evaluation, in collaboration with ESA, to assess their suitability for the space environment - including leak and bulge tests. Our battery systems have integrated balancing circuitry, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, plus over-current protection via a PTC which can be replaced easily in case of short circuit.

SmallGEO Power | Clyde Space

The power system incorporates a number of main elements, including a 16 section Sequential Switching Shunt Regulator, hot redundant Battery Discharge Regulators, hot redundant Battery Charge Regulators and Power Distribution Module. For missions with power hungry payloads, in its unmodified form, our CommSat power system can manage over 40A at a regulated 50V.
