What we do:

A) Inspectorate;

  • Investigating complaints of cruelty and neglect
  • Educating public on animal care and welfare
  • Undertaking rescues and emergencies
  • Educating where possible before applying the law
  • Assessment and advice, examining and observing all aspects of the many environments in which animals find themselves and advising people how to solve animal related problems to prevent cruelty and ensure animals are treated correctly and with understanding.
  • Pro-active visits undertaken at all establishments where animals are housed bred or utilised.

B) Veterinary Clinic

  • Sterilisations of cats and dogs to curb unwanted breeding in an already overpopulated pet community. (Both for the animals in our care at the shelter as well as for the ‘under – privileged)
  • Vaccinations and deworming
  • Providing medical treatment for both the animals in our care at the shelter as well as for the ‘under – privileged.

C) Shelter:

  • Collect neglected, abused and abandoned animals that are reported to our office.
  • Collection and caring of strays. These are dogs and cats of all sizes and shapes, often with litters of puppies / kittens; sometimes we find puppies / kittens in black bags thrown into the garbage.
  • Collection of healthy animals that are “signed off” by their owners due to circumstances.
  • Care and feeding etc. of abovementioned animals.
  • Rehabilitation work with dogs and cats
  • Re-homing of cats and dogs

D) Mobile Clinics and Farm Workers Project:

* Education on proper animal care.

* We dip, vaccinate, deworm, sterilise and treat all the sick and injured animals.

* Removal of unwanted animals

E) Feral Cats:

* Feral cats are not wild, they are the offspring of unsterilised domestic cats who have been lost and abandoned by their owners. We focus on the control and management of these colonies

* Traps can be rented to members of the public who are instructed on the proper monitoring, trapping and release procedures.

* Inspectors are sent out to trap the cats and bring them to our clinic for sterilisation.

We do prefer to sterilise and return the cats to their site as this prevents a new colony moving in.

F) Reception & shop

  • Administration of all the above.
  • Shop on site where you can purchase your entire cat and dog requirements.
  • Bric ‘n brac shop – selling of second hand items.

* In our Communities, through our inspectorate department and mobile clinics while out and about in order to prevent neglect and cruelty

* Basic animal care and compassion, teaching kindness and compassion for all living things. We understand the importance of actively reaching out in order to spread our messages to keep animals safe and happy. With the help from our wonderful volunteers we are able to talk to the children.

H) Communications and Fundraising:

* Dedicated to raising funds and keeping public awareness on the plight of animals in our community.
