Scenario Navigator software to simplify the output analysis

Analista Modelling Systems is now a Channel Partner of Systems Navigator for their Scenario Navigator software. This should especially be good news for all current Arena users to enhance and simplify the output analysis part of their projects!

Scenario Navigator® software embodies our decision support framework for simulation projects and solutions. The software is the result of more than 12 years of experience in simulation and decision support technology, dealing with customers in most industry segments. Scenario Navigator® is a software platform that can turn any model, into a decision support system, ready to be used by model builders (for model validation), but also by analysts and decision makers to support the decision making process. Scenario Navigator® brings the power of simulation models to the desktop of managers, independent of the engine that is used for modeling!

 

Scenario Management

Users can create infinite scenario's with different model settings and data sets. All scenario data & results are stored in the system. Scenario's can be duplicated, manipulated, rerun with newer model versions. Model run length, warmup time and replication or trial numbers can be altered. Multiple scenario's can be prepared and set to run during the night.

Dashboards/Cockpits

Dashboards or cockpits can be created by developers to create an easy user interface for non-simulation experts who may create scenario's and look at the model results. These user interfaces can contain data tables, charts, graphs and gauges, furthermore the system allows you to create as many as you require. External function calls can also be made from custom commandbuttons on the interface, allowing you to integrate the system with other legacy systems.

Project Reporting

Scenario Navigator® has a custom report builder that can be used by developer users. Customizable project reports are available to all users and can display information per scenario, or over multiple scenario's (See Scenario Comparison). Reports can contain all information from data tables, queries, graphs, charts & gauges available in the project.

Simulation Engine Execution

Scenario Navigator® can execute simulation models of the connected simulation engines. This allows simulation analysts and decision makers to create multiple scenario's and submit them for simulation execution. Scenario Navigator® takes care of the rest and will report whether the run was successfully completed. Multiple users can submit multiple scenario's at the same time.

Scenario Comparison

Scenario's can be compared by simply selecting a completed scenario from the list, all user interfaces will automatically display the related information from the new scenario. It is also possible to create graphs and dashboards that display scenario comparisons. Reports can also be set up specifically for scenario comparison, triggering the user to simply select which scenarios to compare, prior to loading the report.

Model Management

Projects in Scenario Navigator® may contain multiple models, for example an as-is and a to-be model. Models are stored in the system and are under version control by the project developer(s). Models within the same project do not have to be from the same engine (although it is more likely that they will be, it is not a requirement).

Scenario History

For auditing purposes, all scenario history information is stored in the system. This enables any user to recreate a scenario or reverse any changes made to the system. It is also very helpfull in order to analyze a scenario that was created by another user.

Enterprise Data Integration

Scenario Navigator® has a client-server architecture that is connected to a database. The system can easily be connected to legacy IT systems such as ERP, MES or Control systems in order to receive and store information such as orders, forecasts, bill of materials, process times, breakdown/failure data and realtime shopfloor data transactions. With this information available, Scenario Navigator® can feed this into the simulation model for execution, and store the model results.

User Management

Scenario Navigator® users can have 1 of 4 user roles; administrator, developer, user & viewer. Each user role is restricted to functionality based on the user rights for that role. The administrator can (re)assign user rights per user and role. Depending on the user rights, users can design and develop the project, run scenario's, view reports, publish results, audit scenarios from colleagues, register a newer model version and much more.
